Jim Groves

Prior to founding Rubberdesk, Jim spent two decades at UBS Investment Bank, where he held various roles in technology and trading across the UK and Australia. His specialization in algorithmic trading and transition management allowed him to work with some of the world's largest fund managers and Sovereign Wealth Funds, honing his skills in innovation, strategy, and operational excellence.

Jim’s career began with a twelve-month Short Service Limited Commission in the British Army’s Brigade of Gurkhas, an experience that instilled in him discipline, leadership, and a global perspective. He later earned a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle Upon Tyne University, blending technical acumen with problem-solving expertise. This diverse background, spanning military service, engineering, finance, and technology, gives Jim a distinct edge in driving innovation, navigating complex challenges, and building successful ventures.
